The Gospel

  • YOU WERE MADE FOR MORE!

At some point, we all ask: Why am I here? We chase after purpose and meaning—through success, relationships, wealth, or pleasure—but still, something inside feels empty. This isn’t a coincidence. The Bible teaches that this longing exists because we were created for something greater: to know God, to experience His love, and to find our true fulfillment in a relationship with Him.

The early church theologian Augustine famously wrote, "You have made us for Yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You." This means that no matter what we try to fill our lives with, nothing will truly satisfy us apart from God.

God tells us in the Bible: "Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made" (Isaiah 43:7). This means your life is not an accident. You were made with purpose—to reflect God’s glory and to enjoy a personal relationship with Him.

  • SOMETHING IS BROKEN INSIDE!

Even though we long for meaning, we all experience pain, emptiness, and struggles. Why? Because something is fundamentally broken in us. The Bible calls this condition sin—not just bad actions but a heart that chooses its own way over God's.

Sin separates us from the life we were meant to have. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." This means that every person, no matter how moral or well-intentioned, has turned away from God’s perfect design.

The consequences of sin aren’t just bad experiences or feelings of guilt—it results in death. Romans 6:23 says, "The wages of sin is death…" This isn’t just physical death, but spiritual separation from God, the source of life. Without Him, we remain stuck in an endless cycle of searching for meaning but never finding it.

  • If sin is the problem, how can we be made right with God? Religion and good deeds can’t fix our brokenness. What we need is not self-improvement, but a Savior.

The good news—the gospel—is that Jesus Christ, God in human form, came to rescue us. He lived the perfect life we couldn’t live, died the death we deserved because of sin, and rose from the dead to offer us new life.

The Bible explains: "Christ died for our sins… He was buried, and He was raised on the third day" (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Jesus’ death was not just a tragedy—it was a sacrifice that paid the price for our sins. And His resurrection proves that He has power over death and sin, offering us the chance to be restored to God.

Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly" (John 10:10). This isn’t just about eternal life after death—it’s about a restored relationship with God now, a life full of true peace, joy, and purpose.

  • REPENT AND BELIEVE!

Hearing this message isn’t enough; the next step is personal. Jesus calls every person to respond by turning away from sin and trusting in Him.

Mark 1:15 records Jesus’ words: "Repent and believe in the gospel." Repentance means turning away from a self-centered life and choosing to follow Jesus. Believing means placing your trust in His sacrifice as the only way to be restored to God.

Romans 10:9 makes it clear: "If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." This isn’t about religious rituals or trying to be "good enough." It’s about trusting Jesus and surrendering your life to Him.

    5. Will You Accept This Invitation?

Salvation is not ultimately based on our choice, but on God's grace. If you feel the weight of your sin and the desire to turn to Christ, it is because God is already at work in your heart. Jesus said, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him" (John 6:44). If God is drawing you to Himself, respond in faith and repentance.

If you desire to follow Jesus, you can express your faith in prayer:

Father, I know that I have sinned and rebelled against You. I believe that Jesus lived the perfect life I could not, died for my sins, and rose again. Please forgive me, change me, and help me to trust and follow You. Amen.

If God has given you faith in Christ, seek out a faithful church where you can grow in His Word, be baptized, and live in fellowship with other believers. Read the Bible, pray, and continue trusting in Jesus as your only hope. You were made for more, and through Christ, you can experience the life God intended for His people.

  • You were made for more than just existing—you were made to know God and live a life full of meaning. Sin has broken us, but Jesus came to restore us. He offers you a new way to live, with Him at the center, guiding you into real life. Will you accept that invitation and trust in Jesus today?

Next Steps

  • YOU WEREN’T MEANT TO DO THIS ALONE!

God designed us for community. The Christian life is not meant to be lived in isolation but in a family of believers who encourage, support, and challenge one another to grow in faith. The local church is where we worship together, learn from God’s Word, and serve others.

"Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." – Hebrews 10:25 (ESV)

    Why It Matters:

    • You’ll be surrounded by people who will pray for you and walk with you.

    • You’ll learn from godly leaders and teachers who will help you understand Scripture.

    • You’ll have opportunities to serve and use your gifts for God’s glory.

Next Step: Visit a local, Bible-teaching church this Sunday and introduce yourself to someone! We would love for that to be MULTIPLY CHURCH. If you would like to visit, fill out our Connect Form!

  • SHOW OTHERS THAT YOU BELONG TO JESUS!

Baptism is a public declaration of your faith in Jesus. It symbolizes dying to your old way of life and being raised to new life in Christ. While baptism itself doesn’t save you, it is an act of obedience that Jesus commanded.

"Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." – Acts 2:38 (ESV)

    Why It Matters:

    • It’s a step of obedience to Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20).

    • It publicly declares that you belong to Christ.

    • It reminds you and others of the new life you have in Him.

Next Step: Talk to a pastor or church leader about getting baptized.

  • LEARN FROM SOMEONE WHO’S BEEN FOLLOWING JESUS!

You don’t have to figure everything out on your own. God places people in our lives who have walked with Him longer and can help guide us. A mature Christian can answer questions, help you understand Scripture, and encourage you in your faith.

"Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ." – 1 Corinthians 11:1 (ESV)

    Why It Matters:

    • You’ll grow faster with someone helping you avoid mistakes they’ve learned from.

    • You’ll have a trusted person to ask questions and process your faith journey.

    • God designed discipleship to happen in relationships (Matthew 28:19-20).

Next Step: Identify a Christian you respect and ask if they’d be willing to meet with you regularly for prayer, Bible study, and encouragement.

  • GROW IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM!

A relationship with Jesus isn’t just about knowing facts—it’s about knowing Him personally. The primary way we hear from God is through His Word, the Bible. The primary way we talk to Him is through prayer. The more time you spend with Him, the more you’ll grow in your faith.

"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." – James 4:8 (ESV)
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." – Psalm 119:105 (ESV)

    Why It Matters:

    • The Bible reveals who God is and how He wants us to live.

    • Prayer builds intimacy with God and helps align our hearts with His will.

    • Spending time with God strengthens us for everyday life.

Next Step: Start with 10 minutes a day. Read a chapter from the Gospel of John and talk to God about what you’re learning.

  • YOUR STORY CAN HELP SOMEONE ELSE MEET HIM!

Jesus didn’t just save you for yourself—He saved you so you can help others find Him too! Your story of how He changed your life is powerful. Whether it’s with friends, family, or coworkers, sharing your faith is part of following Jesus.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." – Matthew 28:19 (ESV)

    Why It Matters:

    • Jesus commands us to share the gospel.

    • Others need to hear how Jesus can change their lives too.

    • Your testimony makes the gospel personal and relatable.

Next Step: Ask God to show you one person who needs to hear the story of Jesus and look for an opportunity to share it with them this week.
